NOD is a conceptual fashion collection inspired by the life, philosophy, music, activism, and enduring legacy of Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Rather than presenting a historical tribute, the collection explores Fela as a timeless cultural force whose ideas continue to inspire successive generations.

The collection is structured around four interconnected narratives that interpret different dimensions of Fela's legacy.

Fela of the Past — This chapter celebrates Fela's origins, his pioneering role in Afrobeat, his uncompromising political activism, and his contribution to African cultural consciousness. The garments reflect historical memory while honouring his revolutionary spirit.

Fela of the Present — Fela's influence remains visible across music, fashion, art, and contemporary youth culture. This chapter interprets his continuing relevance through modern silhouettes and contemporary African aesthetics, demonstrating how his philosophy still resonates in present-day society.

Fela of the Future — This chapter imagines how Fela's legacy may continue to evolve through future generations. Its signature piece is the Ogidi-Omo Kimono, a visionary interpretation of Fela's enduring influence. Created using Minayo Textile, it employs a customised arrangement of embroidered motifs designed to portray Fela's identity, philosophy, artistry, revolutionary ideals, and Pan-African vision — every motif functioning as visual storytelling that turns the garment into a wearable cultural archive. The ensemble includes the handcrafted Minayo Textile kimono, a matching cap, and a carved wooden staff symbolising courage, leadership, cultural authority, and resistance. The title Ogidi-Omo, meaning 'Courageous Child,' reflects the fearless character that defined Fela's life and work.

Fela – The Woman Version — The final chapter reimagines Fela's revolutionary spirit through womenswear. Rather than replicating menswear, it translates his courage, confidence, and activism into feminine silhouettes that celebrate the resilience, strength, and leadership of African women.

Through these four narratives, NOD demonstrates how fashion can become a medium for historical reflection, cultural preservation, and artistic storytelling.
